Securing IoT Devices

The Internet of Things has moved past hype and into the mainstream, ushering in a new era of connectivity and insights. Companies use IoT to transform their business, develop new revenue streams, improve customer satisfaction, and drive innovation. IoT investments are climbing, and IDC predicts spending will maintain a double-digit annual growth rate, surpassing $1 trillion USD worldwide by 2022. Much of this growth is driven by the availability of network-capable microcontrollers (MCUs), the small, general purpose computers powering devices ranging from toys to consumer appliances to industrial equipment. As connectivity becomes less expensive, companies are connecting both new and legacy devices to capitalize on the insights and efficiencies that IoT enables.
