The Future Role of Strategic Landpower

The Army’s multidomain operations concept places increased emphasis on the need for the Army to compete short of armed conflict. The concept nests within a broader Department of Defense and national security focus on the return to great-power competition against near-peer adversaries like Russia and China.

This new emphasis has led to technological, doctrinal, and organizational changes, and, for the first time in decades, the Army is making significant investments in its theater army headquarters.
