10 Steps to Prepare For a Ransomware Attack

Continually test your playbook and response plan over time. Invite all staff who will have responsibilities to prevent or respond to attacks: This should include (but is not limited to) IT teams, security, risk assessment, human resources, legal, the CIO, CISO, business leadership, first-line business managers, the team responsible for business continuity (if it exists), and CEO (depending on the size of your organization).

Perform practical and goal-oriented tabletop exercises where all responsible staff members discuss potential attacks and come to an agreement on how best to deal with them.
