CBO’s Role in Assessing Climate Change

This report summarizes the work that the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) has been doing on the effects of climate change and climate change policy on the economy and the federal budget.

In this presentation, the agency explains how they arrived at their estimate of how climate change will affect economic output and provides an estimate of the potential revenue that could be generated by imposing a tax on emissions of greenhouse gases.
