Combating Sexual Misconduct

The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice continues to lead efforts against sexual misconduct, addressing abuses in housing, education, employment, and the criminal justice system. In FY 2024 alone, the Division secured over $10 million for survivors, obtained 134 criminal convictions, and trained hundreds through targeted programs. Notable cases include prosecutions of public officials, enforcement actions against universities, and civil suits against landlords and traffickers. These efforts underscore the federal government’s commitment to holding perpetrators accountable and strengthening protections across institutions.
