Executive Order 14287: Protecting American Communities From Criminal Aliens

This executive order directs the federal government to identify and penalize “sanctuary jurisdictions” that obstruct immigration law enforcement. The Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security will compile and update a list of these jurisdictions, pursue legal action against them, and restrict access to federal funding. Additional provisions include enforcing eligibility checks for federal public benefits and prohibiting state or local policies that prioritize undocumented immigrants over American citizens. The order frames these efforts as essential to national security and the rule of law.
